Box Score Springfield, Ohio – The field hockey team took a 4-3 overtime win over Wittenberg on Saturday.
Paige Berliner scored the game winner at the 80:56 mark in OT to give the Tigers their third straight win. Berliner also scored early in the second half off an assist from Rose Revolinski to put the Tigers ahead 3-2, but a late goal by Blaine Donnelly (63:17) forced the game into overtime.
DePauw took a two-goal lead quickly in the first half thanks to goals by Revolinski (6:42) and Reilly Bruce (8:03) with Revolinski on the assist for the second goal.
However, Wittenberg tied it at 2-2 before the end of the half with goals from Riley Trexler (13:13) and Donnelly (34:51).
Sarah Guendert spent all 80:58 in net for the win to improve to 6-1. She made seven saves on 10 shots on goal. DePauw, meanwhile, took 13 shots on goal against two Wittenberg goalies.
Both teams took nine penalty corners.
DePauw moves to 8-3 overall and 7-1 in the NCAC. Wittenberg drops to 4-8 and 4-4 in the conference.
DePauw is back in action next Saturday when they travel to Wooster.
