#2 Kenyon Hands Tigers First Conference Loss

Gambier, Ohio- The DePauw men's soccer team traveled to Gambier, Ohio to take on 2nd-ranked Kenyon College, Saturday afternoon in a pivotal North Coast Athletic Conference match. Henry Myers goal with 59 seconds left in the first half proved to the game winner, as the Lords knocked off the Tigers, 1-0.

With the loss, DePauw dropped to 6-4 on the year and 1-1 in the NCAC, while Kenyon stayed unbeaten at 9-0 and 1-0 in NCAC play.

Kenyon applied early pressure, firing three shots in the first 10 minutes. DePauw goalie Jake Pezzuto made two saves late in the half, but was unable to corral Myers' shot, putting the Lords ahead 1-0 with just 59 seconds left in the half.

The Tigers were unable to mount a second-half comeback, dropping their first conference game of the season.

The Lords held a 14-8 advantage on shots and had seven corner kicks to the Tigers' one. Pezzuto made three saves in a losing effort, while Sam Clougher grabbed two saves in the shutout.

DePauw looks to get back in the win column Saturday, October 4, when they host Wooster starting at noon.
