Box Score Greencastle, Ind.- The 15th-ranked DePauw field hockey team won their fifth straight North Coast Athletic Conference game Saturday afternoon, defeating Ohio Wesleyan by a final score of 4-0, at Reavis Stadium.
With the win, the Tigers improved to 9-1 overall and 5-1 in the NCAC, while the Battling Bishops dropped to 3-6 on the year and 1-5 in NCAC play.
DePauw dominated the first half, firing 16 shots and holding Ohio Wesleyan shotless. Grace Goodbarn opened up the scoring when she fired in a pass from Maggie Campbell in the 13th minute. Riley Bruce would extend the Tigers' lead in the 24th minute on an unassisted goal.
Leading 2-0 after the first half, DePauw kept up the pressure, scoring just one minute into the second half. Campbell rattled the cage on a crossing pass from Paige Berliner. Bruce would tally her second goal of the contest in the 64th minute on an assist from Sofia Carretero.
DePauw outshot Ohio Wesleyan 32-2 and held a 17-2 edge on penalty corners. Jackie Feliciano made 16 saves in a losing effort, while Maggie Steele and Sarah Guendert combined for the shutout.
The Tigers are back in action Saturday, October 4, when they host Wittenberg for a 6 p.m. contest at Reavis Stadium.
