Box Score Greencastle, Ind.- The 15th-ranked DePauw field hockey team scored five second-half goals to defeat Earlham College by a final score of 5-0, Wednesday night at Reavis Stadium.
With the win, the Tigers improved to 8-1 overall and 4-1 in North Coast Athletic Conference play, while Quakers dropped to 0-8 on the year and 0-5 in the NCAC.
DePauw fired 27 shots in the opening half, but were unable to net a goal. Earlham goalie Brynna Foreman made 15 of her 24 saves in the first half to keep the game scoreless heading to halftime.
The Tigers were finally able to crack Foreman's defense when Maggie Campbell scored an unassisted goal in the 37th minute. Campbell would add three assists over the next 17 minutes as DePauw extended their lead.
Kate Jovanovic scored in the 46th minute followed up by a pair of goals from Paige Henry in the 52nd and 55th minutes. Colleen Conway would round out the Tigers' scoring as she rattled the cage on a penalty stroke in the 64th minute.
DePauw outshot Earlham 50-3 and held a 16-2 edge on penalty corners. Sarah Guendert picked up her first collegiate victory as she combined with Maggie Steele for the Tigers' fourth straight shutout.
The Tigers are back in action Saturday, September 27, when they host Ohio Wesleyan starting at 4 p.m.
