Overtime Goal Dooms Tigers

Terre Haute, Ind.- Dieter Schultz's goal with just 11 seconds remaining in the first overtime period gave Rose-Hulman a 1-0 victory over DePauw, Wednesday night in Terre Haute.

The loss dropped the Tigers to 4-3 on the year, while the Engineers improved to 5-0-2 with the win.

In regulation, it was the Tigers who applied all of the offensive pressure, firing 13 shots to Rose-Hulman's four. The Engineer's lone shot on goal came in the 26th minute of the first half.

Drew Miller made six saves for Rose-Hulman to keep the game scoreless and force overtime. The first overtime session was relatively calm with Andy Morrison firing the lone Tiger shot, but it was Schultz's shot with just 11 seconds left that found its way into the back of the net.

The Engineers held a 4-2 edge on corner kicks, while DePauw tallied 13 fouls to Rose-Hulman's 10.

DePauw is back in action Saturday, September 20, when they open up North Coast Athletic Conference play at Hiram, starting at 7:00 p.m.
