Box Score

Greencastle, Ind.- 11th-ranked Thomas More handed the DePauw women's soccer team their second straight loss, defeating the Tigers by a final score of 2-0.

DePauw dropped to 1-4 with the loss, while the Saints improved to 5-0.

Thomas More applied early pressure as they tallied a goal just 6:36 into the contest. Emilee Buchanan was able to navigate through the Tigers' defense, netting an unassisted goal to put the Saints up 1-0. Julia Flagge-Echols extended the Thomas More lead in the 29th minute when she fired a shot that deflected off a DePauw defender and settled in the back of the net.

Down 2-0 after the first half, the Tigers came out of the break with a heightened energy. DePauw had a number of opportunities, but came up just short each time.

The Saints held a 16-4 edge on shots and a 7-0 advantage on corner kicks. Megan Barton picked up the shutout, grabbing one save in the process, while DePauw's Emma Cooper made eight saves in a losing effort.

DePauw is back in action Wednesday, September 17, when they host Franklin for a 7:00 p.m. showdown.
