Granville, Ohio - For the second time in three days, DePauw pulled off a North Coast Athletic Conference doubleheader sweep after posting 4-3 and 3-2 wins at Denison. The Tigers improved to 13-9 overall and 4-0 in the NCAC, while the Big Red is now 6-6 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

In the opener, the Tigers got off to a quick start as Sammi Bell led off the game by being hit by a pitch and then stole second. She moved to third on a wild pitch and crossed the play on Jennifer Ridge's grounder. Linsey Button followed with a double to left and scored on Lauren Krumwiede's single to center.

DePauw made it 3-0 in the fifth as Megan Landahl record on an error with one out and moved to second on Grace Hendrickson's sacrifice bunt. Pinch-hitter Beth Chelmowski singles to short, plating Landahl.

Denison countered in the bottom of the fifth as Rachel Laughlin walked and moved to second on Ryan Lee's sacrifice bunt. Lindsey Kenyon's single down the right field line was the first hit off of DePauw pitcher Kahla Nolan and made it 3-1.

The Tigers' Taylor Golden doubled down the left field line to lead off the sixth and moved to third on Ridge's sacrifice bunt. Golden then scored on a wild pitch.

Denison's final scores came in the bottom of the sixth when Kerry Hager was hit by a pitch and scored on Gretchen Staubach's triple and Laughlin drove in Staubach with a single.

Golden and Krumwiede each had two of DePauw's seven hits, while three different Big Red players had one hit apiece.

Nolan improved to 9-6 with the three-hitter, while Rebecca Dyer dropped to 2-2 with the loss.

Denison's Julie Rooney led off the bottom of the first of game two with a double and scored on Staubach's single.

The Tigers scored all of their runs in the fifth as Julia Waggoner singled, Sammi Beel reached on catcher's interference and Golden singled to load the bases. Ridge reached on a fielder's choice that forced Waggoner at the plate before Button delivered a bases-clearing double to left center.

Kerry Hager doubled to start the Denison sixth and Staubach was hit by a pitch before Laughlin singled home Hager. The Big Red loaded the bases, but Nolan struck out the last two Denison hitters of the inning. Kenyon led off the Denison seventh with a single and moved to third on a couple of sacrifice bunts, but Nolan struck out Staubach to end the game.

Golden and Button each had two of DePauw's seven hits, while Kenyon had two of the Big Red's seven hits.

Nolan improved to 10-6 and struck out four with just one walk. Erin Laswell dropped to 2-2 with the loss.

DePauw returns to action on Saturday, April 5, when it hosts Hiram in a 1 p.m. NCAC doubleheader.
