Terre Haute, Ind. - Paced by five individual firsts, DePauw totaled 161 points and finished second at the Rose-Hulman Early Bird Invitational. Defiance won the meet with 191.
Jillian Balser won the pole vault with a best vault of 3.20 meters (10-6), while Trina Manalo took first in the hammer throw at 38.59 meters (126-7).
Also turning in firsts for the Tigers were Ashley Guevara in the 3,000 steeplechase (11:55.36), Meghan Burke in the 100 hurdles (16.06) and Nicole Inman in the 800 meters (2:24.81).
Amanda Weber was second in a pair of events as she finished the 200 meters in 26.71 seconds and had a best long jump of 4.88 meters (16-0.25) and also third in the 100 meters in 13.51 seconds. Megan Everhart was second in the steeplechase in 12:25.41 as was Heather O'Brien in the 1500 meters 4:56.03. O'Brien was also fifth in the 800 meters in 2:29.82.
Katie Doron collected a pair of third-place finishes in the 1500 meters in 5:00.10 and the 800 meters in 2:28.60 as did Katie Manalo in the shot put (10.08 meters/33-1) and hammer throw (29.76 meters/97-8).
Other third-place performances came from Celia Kauth in the high jump (1.46 meters/4-9.5) and Trina Manalo in the discus throw (27.37 meters/89-9).
DePauw's 4 x 100 relay was second in 51.39 seconds as was the 4 x 400 in 4:20.79.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, April 5, when they host the DePauw Invitational at Blackstock Stadium.
