800 Free Relay Finishes Fifth and Smashes School Record

Indianapolis, Ind. - The Tigers finished the third day of NCAA Division III Championship competition in a big way tonight at the IU Natatorium as the 800-yard freestyle relay earned all-America honors with a fifth-place showing.

Angela Newlon (Fr., O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon Township), Emily Weber (Jr., Cincinnati, Ohio/Princeton), Kirsten Olson (Fr., Albuquerque, N.M./Wayzata) and Caroline Bridges (So., Mequon, Wis./University School Milwaukee)) finished in 7:25.22 which broke the DePauw record of 7:31.22 they set at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships in February.

In the morning prelims, Newlon finished 21st in the 200 butterfly in 2:06.97.

With 48 points, DePauw is 15th headed into Saturday's final day of competition. Prelims start at 10 a.m.
