Atlanta, Ga.- The Tigers dropped both ends of a doubleheader Saturday afternoon against Messiah, losing the first game 4-2 and falling in game two by a score of 9-0 in run rule shortened contest.

DePauw dropped to 3-3 on the year, while Messiah improved to 2-2 overall.

The Tigers would score first in the opener, on RBI double by Gabby Smart in the top of the second inning. Messiah would tie the score in the bottom of the inning on a sac fly.

Messiah added a run in the fourth inning followed by two runs in the fifth to take a 4-1 lead. The Tigers would attempt a comeback, but were only unable to plate one run on Andi Sarkisian's RBI groundout scoring Jennifer Ridge from third.

Megan Landahl, Taylor Golden and Smart led the Tigers with two hits a piece. Kahla Nolan took the loss for DePauw giving up six hits in six innings, while Mallory Rutledge picked up the complete game win for Messiah.

In game two, Messiah jumped out to a quick lead putting up a four spot in the first inning, following that up with a three-run second inning. The Eagles would add runs in the fourth and fifth innings to take a 9-0 lead.

DePauw would be unable to muster up any offense against Messiah starting pitcher Amanda Meese, who gave up just one hit in the five-inning contest, shortened due to run-rule. 

Hailey Freres took the loss for the Tigers after making her first start of the season.
