DePauw Places Sixth at Anderson

Anderson, Ind. - Paced by Amen Galley's win in the long jump and Kyle Mackey's share of first in the pole vault, DePauw totaled 41 points and finished fifth among the 19 teams at Anderson's Fred Wilt Invitational. Wabash won the meet with 101, while Huntington was second with 71.

Galley's best mark of 22-6.25 (6.86 meters) came on his final effort and was good for first place. Mackey cleared 14-11 (4.55) in the pole vault to share the top honors with Cedarville's James Blackwell. Aaron Krabill was fifth in the event at 13-11.25 (4.25 meters).

Marcus Dozier was third in the shot put with a best toss of 47-9.75 which came on his final try. Paul Watts turned in a fourth-place finish in the 5,000 meters in 15:21.98 as did Will Bond in the mile run in 4:29.05. Brian Mincks crossed fifth in the 800 meters in 1:59.47, while Stu Newstat was sixth in the mile in 4:31.46 as was Dan Howard in the weight throw with a best mark of 44-1.25 (13.44 meters). 

The Tigers' 4 x 200 relay was sixth in 1:37.12.

DePauw travels to Granville, Ohio, for the North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Championships, March 7-8.
