Oberlin, Ohio- The DePauw men's basketball team fell to Oberlin College by a final score of 67-63, Saturday afternoon in Oberlin, Ohio.

With the loss, the Tigers dropped to 5-3 overall and 0-3 in North Coast Athletic Conference action, while the Yeomen improved to 5-4 on the year and 2-3 in NCAC play.

Oberlin opened the game on a 9-0 run highlighted by a four-point play from Jack Poyle. Poyle led all scorers with 17 first-half points, going 4-of-6 from beyond the arc.

DePauw was able to take the lead at the 7:14 mark on Luke Lattner's three. The Tigers would hold the lead for just over a minute before Oberlin jumped back in front.

Connor Rich hit a three with 28 seconds left to cut the lead to one, but the Yeomen's Zach Meyers made a layup just before the buzzer, sending his team to the locker room leading 38-35.

Both teams shot over 50 percent in the half and relied on the three ball for the majority of their points. DePauw shot 7-for-9 (77.8%) from three, while Oberlin went 6-for-13 (46.2%) in the half.

The Tigers came out in the second half and quickly took a lead on free throws from Tommy Fernitz and Frank Patton III. DePauw led by as much as 10 with 5:29 remaining before squandering their lead.

Oberlin held the Tigers scoreless for the final 5:29, closing the game on a 14-0 run to secure the victory. Poyle led all scorers with 22 points, while Miles Gueno added nine points and six rebounds.

Bob Dillon paced DePauw with 16 points, while Rich and Lattner each tallied 11.

For the game, Oberlin shot 51.1 percent from the floor to the Tigers' 40.5 percent. DePauw went 9-for-14 from deep, while the Yeomen went 8-for-19.

DePauw won the rebound battle 30-27, but committed 14 turnovers. Neither squad was impressive from the free-throw line as the Tigers went 20-for-29 (69%) and Oberlin was 11-for-20 (55%).

The Tigers are back in action December 29, against Washington College at the Tampa Bay Shootout.
