Box Score Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw women's soccer team surrendered three first-half goals to the visiting Illinois Wesleyan Titans, falling 3-0, Wednesday night at Reavis Stadium.
DePauw dropped to 2-6-2 overall, while the 22nd-ranked Titans improved to 9-2 on the year.
After 30 minutes of scoreless play, Illinois Wesleyan's Sydney Fox exploded for three straight goals in less than eight minutes. Fox scored her first goal in the 32nd minute on a double-assist from Brie Siebert and Amanda Kaiser. Kaiser would assist on Fox's next two goals in the 35th and 39th minutes.
Trailing 3-0 at halftime, the Tigers started the second half with a heightened offensive energy. DePauw was able to earn three early corner kicks, but the Tigers were unable to find the back of the net on any of their attempts.
Illinois Wesleyan outshot the Tigers 15-8 and held a 6-4 advantage on corner kicks. Sarah Cho made five saves in a losing effort, while Dana Jourdan and Shannon Green combined for four saves in the shutout.
The Tigers are back in action Saturday, October 11, when they travel to Ohio Wesleyan for a North Coast Athletic Conference matchup, starting at 5:00 p.m.
