DePauw Finishes Sixth at Indiana Intercollegiates; Newlon is Fifth in 500 Free

West Lafayette, Ind. - Led by Angela Newlon's fifth-place showing in the 500-yard freestyle, DePauw totaled 101 points and finished sixth among 10 schools at the Indiana Intercollegiates. Purdue won with 786.5 points followed by Ball State with 336.5 and IUPUI with 309.

Newlon touched fifth in the 500 free in 5:08.67, while Emily Weber was eighth in 5:11.67, Kirsten Olson 12th in 5:23.86 and Maggie Lomasney 18th in 5:34.71.

Weber was 11th in the 200 free (1:57.16) followed by Newlon in 12th (1:57.30) and Olson in 14th (1:59.26).

In the 100 free, Erin Horne was 14th (55.49) followed by Caroline Bridges in 16th (55.60) and Ellen Riehle in 19th (57.42).

DePauw's 200 free relay finished seventh in 1:40.67.

The Tigers host Washington-St. Louis on November 1 in a 2 p.m. meet.
