Tigers Finish Fourth as Season-Opening Indiana Intercollegiates; Hooker Posts Pair of Top-Three Finishes

West Lafayette, Ind. - Paced by a pair of top-three finishes by Casey Hooker, DePauw totaled 162 points and finished fourth among nine schools at the Indiana Intercollegiates. Purdue won with 733 points, followed by IUPUI with 311.5 and Indianapolis with 252.5.

Hooker placed second in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:41.70 and was third in the 500 free in 4:40.73. Blake Lehmann was fourth in the 50 free in 21.20 seconds and finished ninth in the 100 butterfly in 52.29.

Alex Alfonso turned in a fifth-place showing in the 100 free in 47.71, while Kurt Swieter rounded out the Tigers' top 10 individual swimming performances after placing 10th in the 200 free in 1:44.27.

DePauw's 200 free relay was fourth in 1:27.89.

Eric Addy competed in diving and finished ninth on the one-meter board with 189.45 points and 11th in three-meter competition with 155.95.

DePauw returns to the pool on October 31 in a 7 p.m. dual meet at Wabash.
