Box Score Greencastle, Ind.- One day after falling to Kenyon in a penalty shootout, the 16th-ranked Tigers rebounded with a 4-0 victory over Denison, Sunday afternoon at Reavis Stadium.
With the win, DePauw improved to 11-2 on the year and 7-2 in North Coast Athletic Conference play, while the Big Red dropped to 8-4 overall and 8-2 in the NCAC.
The Tigers dictated the pace of play in the first half, outshooting Denison by a 10-3 mark. Paige Berliner opened the scoring for DePauw when she rattled the cage on an assist from Grace Fisher in the 15th minute. Addie Ball notched the second goal of the half off a penalty corner in the 27th minute.
Trailing 2-0 at halftime, the Big Red stepped up their offensive pressure in the second half. Denison fired six shots and earned seven penalty corners, but were unable to net a goal.
Paige Henry extended DePauw's lead with an unassisted goal in the 36th minute and Fisher rounded out the scoring when she converted a penalty stroke in the 41st minute.
DePauw held an 18-9 advantage on shots and earned 11 penalty corners to Denison's 10. Audrey Miller Foreman made six saves in the loss, while Maggie Steele and Sarah Guendert combined for the shutout.
The Tigers are back in action Saturday, October 18, when they travel to Oberlin.
