Late Goals Send DePauw to Defeat at Ohio Wesleyan

Delaware, Ohio - DePauw and Ohio Wesleyan battle through 84 mintues of scoreless soccer before the host Battling Bishops broke through and went on to a 2-0 North Coast Athletic Conference win over the Tigers.

The Tigers dropped to 7-5 overall and 2-2 in conference play, while Ohio Wesleyan improved to 9-3-1 overall and stayed perfect in NCAC play at 3-0.

Colton Bloecher delivered the game-winner from about 25 yards out and off of a free kick. A little over three minutes later the Tigers were called for a foul in the box and Brian Schaefer knocked in the insurance penalty kick.

Jake Pezzuto stopped six shots in goal in the loss for DePauw with Ohio Wesleyan's Colin Beermiller also stopping six shots in recording the shutout.

The Battling Bishops held a 19-10 advantage in shots including 11-4 in the second half, but only held an 8-6 margin in shots on goal. Ohio Wesleyan led in corners, 5-2, and had nine fouls to DePauw's eight.

DePauw hosts Wittenberg on Wednesday, October 15, at 7 p.m.
