St. Louis, Mo. - Behind of a pair of individual first-place finishes today, DePauw finished third among the six schools at the Washington University Invitational. The Tigers totaled 760 points and trailed Washington (1139) and Lindenwood (855).
In today's competition, the 400-yard freestyle relay of Emily Weber, Caroline Bridges, Dana Zerbini and Erin Horne were second in 3:41.65 while the 400 medley relay of Annie Graves, Allison Kirby, Angela Newlon and Zerbini was third in 4:12.56. The Tigers' 200 free relay of Bridges, Jamie Fritsch, Kirsten Olson and Horne also was third in 1:41.83.
Newlon won the 400 individual medley in 4:38.89 with Olson placing third in 4:44.67. Bridges tied for first in the 50 free in 25.25 and was fifth in the 200 free in 1:59.91. Weber finished second in the 200 free in 1:58.79 as well as in the 1650 free in 17:55.52.
Allison Kirby was fourth in the 200 breaststroke in 2:35.00 with Anna Taver placing sixth in the event in 2:42.54. Annie Graves placed fifth in the 100 backstroke in 1:02.12 with Emma Haynes in sixth in 1:04.80. Morgan Graves was DePauw's top finisher in the 100 butterfly after placing sixth in 1:02.42.
DePauw travels to Xavier on Friday, January 17, and wraps up the home portion of the schedule the next day against Illinois Wesleyan and Rose-Hulman.
