St. Louis, Mo. - DePauw totaled 690.5 points and placed fourth among six schools at the Washington University Invitational. Lindenwood won with 894.5 followed by Washington with 740 and Missouri University of Science and Technology with 698.
In Saturday's competition, the Tigers picked up a couple of firsts in the three relays. The 200-yard freestyle relay of Alex Alfonso, Blake Lehmann, Joe Hessburg and Jack Burgeson touched first in 1:25.13 as did the 400 free relay of Casey Hooker, Alfonso, Burgeson and Lehmann. The Tigers' 400 medley relay of Lehmann, Andrew Petersen, Hooker and Alfonso was second in 3:30.22.
Lehmann also took a first in the 50 free in 21.58 seconds with Alfonso finishing fifth in 21.93. Lehmann also was third in the 100 butterfly in 53.11. Hooker won the 200 free in 1:43.22 with Alex Grissom finishing fourth in 1:45.69.
Chris Ercoli had a fourth-place showing in the 100 backstroke in 55.14 with Petersen placing sixth in the 200 breaststroke in 2:12.50.
DePauw travels to Xavier on Friday, January 17, and wraps up the home portion of the schedule the next day against Illinois Wesleyan and Rose-Hulman at 2 p.m.
