Oberlin, Ohio- Two first-half goals proved to be enough for DePauw in their 2-1 victory over Oberlin Saturday afternoon. The Tigers improved to 4-3 overall and 3-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference, while the Yeowomen dropped to 1-5 overall and 0-3 in the NCAC.
Maggie Campbell got the Tigers off to an early start scoring on Paige Henry's pass in the 5th-minute. Kate Jovanovic provided the game winner with 29:10 in the first-half after her shot deflected off an Oberlin defender's stick and found the back of the net.
Oberlin fought back in the second-half when Claire Yeske scored on a pass from Jennifer Krakower. The Tigers were able to limit the scoring and secure a 2-1 victory.
The Tigers outshot the Yeowomen 21-3 and held a 14-4 edge on penalty corners. Oberlin goalie Carmen Azevedo made 13 saves in a losing effort.
DePauw returns to action Sunday, September 22, when they travel to Wooster. This NCAC contest is scheduled to start at noon.
