Terre Haute, Ind. - DePauw's men opened the outdoor portion of the track and field season with a third-place finish at the Rose-Hulman Early Bird. The Tigers totaled 19 points, while Rose-Hulman won with 114 and Franklin was second with 64.
Marcus Dozier posted DePauw's lone individual win as he took first in the discus throw (42.36m/139-0). He also placed second in the shot put (13.31m/43-8).
Kyle Mackey placed second in the pole vault (4.35m/14-3.25) and David Garrett was fourth in the event (3.90m/12-9.5). Also placing second was Myron Burr in the 100 meters in 11.74 seconds.
Noah Droddy turned in a third-place showing in the 1,500 meters in 4:04.75, while Jim Easterhouse was fourth in the 800 meters (2:02.75) as was Noah Gatwood in the 5,000 meters (16:14.0).
DePauw returns to action on Saturday, April 6, at the Marv Frye Invitational at Ohio Wesleyan.
