Big Night for DePauw Men Including All-America Relay

Shenandoah, Texas - On the third of four days of competition, the DePauw men turned in some more solid performances including an all-America finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay.

After finishing 13th in the prelims of the 200 butterfly, sophomore Casey Hooker broke his own school record set just hours earlier by placing 10th in 1:49.06.

Senior Matt Kukurugya joined Hooker in earning honorable mention all-America after turning in a ninth-place finish in the 100 breaststroke in 56.09 which broke his own school mark.

Hooker, Robby Spichiger, Alex Grissom and Matt Haeske finished the night by placing seventh in the 800 free relay and earning all-America honors in a school-record time of 6:40.36. Hooker's leadoff of the relay (1:38.99) also broke the Tigers' 200 free mark.

The Tigers have totaled 77 points and are in 13th place as a team headed into the final day of competition. Saturday's prelims begin at 10 a.m. CDT at the Conroe Natatorium.
