Strong First-Half Helps Tigers Down Yeowomen

Greencastle, Ind.- A strong first-half propelled the Tigers past Oberlin College 2-0 in North Coast Athletic Conference action this afternoon at Boswell Field.

With the win DePauw improved to 9-6 overall and 4-1 in NCAC play, while the Yeowomen dropped to 4-10 overall and 0-4 in the NCAC.

The Tigers jumped ahead when Chloe Jacob converted on a throw-in from Jennifer Dimos. Jacob's goal proved to be the game-winner. DePauw added an insurance goal in the 29th minute when Elizabeth Seewer connected on a pass from Megann Lear.

Oberlin outshot the Tigers 9-8 including an 8-5 edge on shots on goal. DePauw held a 4-2 advantage on corner kicks. Tiger goalie Emma Cooper grabbed eight saves earning the shutout victory.

DePauw is back in action Saturday, October 26, when they travel to Allegheny. This NCAC contest is scheduled for 11 a.m.
