#7 DePauw Splits Games with Williams

Clermont, Fla. - Seventh-ranked DePauw dropped its first game of the season in this morning's 4-2 loss to Williams, but came back to defeat the Ephs in the second game by a 5-3 count. The Tigers are 13-1 on the season, while Williams is now 6-8.

Williams took a 2-0 lead in the opening inning of the first game with Allison Hart leading off the game with a single and scoring on Ally Ensor's triple. Ensor then scored on Ali Graebner's ground out.

DePauw tied the game with one each in the second and third innings. Kate Hendrickson doubled in the second and scored when Jamie Story reached on an error. Cymone Allen led off the third by reaching on a walk and then stole second and moved to third on a passed ball before scoring when Amy Hallett reached on an error.

Hart singled in the fifth and scored on Graebner's base hit and then singled in the seventh and scored when Ensor reached on an error.

DePauw totaled five hits with Holly Paris leading the way with two. Hart went 4-for-4 for Williams and Ensor added two as the Ephs totaled eight.

Emma Harrington picked up the win and Emily Bichler dropped to 2-1 with the loss.

In the second game, DePauw took a 1-0 lead in the third as Rachel MacBeth led off with a single, moved to second on Allen's sacrifice bunt and scored on Paris' base hit.

The Tigers expanded the lead to 3-0 in the fourth when Haley Buchanan singled and pinch-runner Samantha Szyska moved to second on Alison Towery's sacrifice bunt. Hendrickson doubled home Szyska and then scored on Story's ground out after stealing third.

DePauw expanded the lead to 5-0 in the seventh when Jen Kosinski singled and moved to second on Paris' sacrifice bunt. Hallett's double scored Kosinski and Hallett later came home on a wild pitch.

The Ephs scored three in the bottom of the seventh as Amanda Correnti tripled and scored on Emalie Rott's ground out. Mo Frank walked and Hart hit a two-run homer.

DePauw totaled 10 hits led by MacBeth's three and two from Kosinski and Hendrickson. Theresa Legan had two of Williams' eight hits.

Kahla Nolan improved to 5-0 with the win, while Megan Casey suffered the loss.

DePauw faces MIT and #12 Wisconsin-Whitewater in the team's final two games in Florida.
