Greencastle, Ind. - The sixth-ranked Tigers improved to 4-0 with a doubleheader sweep of visiting Webster University. The Tigers won the first game, 5-2, and took the nightcap, 8-4. The Gorloks dropped to 4-12 with the losses.

In the opener, DePauw jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first as Rachel MacBeth led off with a single and moved to second on Cymone Allen's sacrifice bunt. Haley Buchanan reached by being hit by a pitch before Amy Hallett singled home MacBeth. Buchanan later scored on a passed ball.

Webster's Taylor Gibbs hit a solo homer in the second to cut the lead to 2-1 before DePauw scored one in the third when Allen tripled and scored on Jen Kosinski's single.

The Gorloks added an unearned run in the fourth before DePauw scored two unearned runs in the fifth.

DePauw totaled nine hits led by MacBeth and Hallett with two each, while Webster had seven led by Gibbs with three and Kaytlin Burczak with two.

Emily Dieckmann improved to 2-0 with the win in relief, while Trisha Thompson dropped to 3-5 with the loss.

The Tigers took a 6-0 lead in the opening inning of the second game as MacBeth led off with a single, Allen reached on an error and Kosinski was hit by a pitch. Buchanan drove in MacBeth with a single and Hallett followed with a sacrifice fly which plated Allen. Holly Paris singled home Kosinski and Jamie Story drove in three with a bases loaded double.

Burczak led off the third with a single and later scored on Kristin Rolla's single. The Tigers countered in the bottom of the inning as Lauren Krumwiede singled and scored on MacBeth's when MacBeth reached on a fielder's choice with an error on the play.

Webster cut the DePauw lead to 7-3 on Kristie Konersmann's two-run homer before DePauw added its final run in the sixth when Kosinski tripled and scored on Hallett's sacrifice fly. The Gorloks added an unearned run in the seventh.

DePauw totaled 13 hits led by two each from MacBeth, Buchanan and Story. Webster finished with seven hits as seven different players had one each.

Kahla  Nolan improved to 1-0 with the win, while Ashley Meagher dropped to 1-7.

The Tigers host Aurora in a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Sunday.
