September 4, 2011, St. Louis, Mo. — DePauw improved to 4-1 on the season and finished the Washington University Bears Classic with a 3-1 mark after sweeping both matches on Sunday. The Tigers topped Carroll (Wis.) by a 3-1 (25-16, 25-20, 23-25, 25-13) score before beating Rose-Hulman (25-15, 25-22, 12-25, 25-10).
In the Carroll match, Katie Petrovich led the way with 16 kills, while Brianna Holder added 45 assists. Abby Balbach totaled a team-high three service aces and six blocks with Tori Bowerman adding 21 digs.
Petrovich totaled 12 kills against Rose-Hulman and Holder had 35 assists. Kylee Lehrman led with four aces, while Bowerman had 17 digs and Paige Thompson five blocks. Balbach was named to the all-tournament team.
DePauw competes in the Rose-Hulman Invitational on September 10-11.
