September 3, 2011, Lynchburg, Va. — Bridgette Shameffer's goal with just 1:05 left in regulation, gave DePauw a 2-1 victory over Washington College. The Tigers improved to 1-1 with the win, while the Shorewomen dropped to 0-1.

Washington took a 1-0 lead on Hilary Manion's goal at 23:24, while Margaret Ellis knotted the score at 1-1 at 44:12. Shamleffer's score came at 68:55.

DePauw held a 25-7 advantage in shots and an 18-5 margin in penalty corners. Maggie Steele recorded three saves for the Tigers and Stephanie Harryman had 15 for the Shorewomen.

The Tigers open North Coast Athletic Conference play on Saturday, September 10, when they travel to Kenyon.
