September 2, 2011, Wheaton, Ill. — DePauw opened the 2011 women's soccer season with a 4-0 loss to Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the opening game of the Bob Baptista Invitational.

The Blugolds reached the board at 6:10 on Paige LeGate's goal which was assisted by Kara Ryan. Rachel Nerison made it 2-0 at 18:53 on Shyla Gilbertson assist. Nelson added a second goal from Allie Stone at 52:29 before Melissa Leister wrapped up the scoring, unassisted, at 71:24.

Wisconsin-Eau Claire outshot the Tigers 11-4, while DePauw held a 2-1 advantage in corners. DePauw's Caroline Kerr totaled five saves, while the Blugolds' Nina Behrenbrinker had three.

DePauw faces eighth-ranked Loras at 11:30 a.m. CDT on Saturday.
