Box Score 2 September 17, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — After dropping a 3-1 decision to Birmingham-Southern in the morning, the Tigers bounced back with a 3-2 win over Millikin at the DePauw Tigers Invitational. DePauw is now 9-4 on the season after going 3-1 over the weekend.
In the Birmingham-Southern match, the Panthers took a 25-22, 16-25, 25-20, 25-22 victory. Abby Balbach led DePauw with 12 kills, while Brianna Holder had 35 assists and Kylee Lehrman two aces. Tori Bowerman led the way with 13 digs with Katie Petrovich, Hannah Nelson and Paige Thompson each finishing with a pair of blocks.
DePauw won the opening two sets against Millikin 26-24 and 25-22, but the Big Blue came back with 25-19 and 25-23 wins in the next two. The Tigers took the fifth and deciding set by a 15-9 score.
Annie Collier led the Tigers with 17 kills, while Holder had 53 assists and Thompson five aces. Bowerman led with 20 digs and Nelson totaled three blocks.
DePauw opens North Coast Athletic Conference play on Saturday, September 24, when it travels to Kenyon for matches against Wooster and Allegheny.
