September 11, 2011, Terre Haute, Ind. — DePauw is 6-3 on the season after splitting its two matches today at the Rose-Hulman Invitational.
DePauw led Rose-Hulman 1-0 and 2-1, but the Engineers won the fourth and fifth sets to take a 26-28, 30-28, 20-25, 25-21, 16-14 win over the Tigers. Abby Balbach paced the Tigers with 15 kills, while Brianna Holder had 43 assists. Paige Thompson and Balbach each totaled four aces with Tori Bowerman totaling 27 digs and Thompson eight blocks.
The Tigers came back to defeat Manchester 25-15, 25-17, 25-20. Alex Messner led the Tigers with eight kills with Holder totaling 30 assists and Balbach four aces. Messner finished with nine digs and Libby Warren had four blocks.
For her efforts, Tori Bowerman was named to the all-tournament team.
