September 10, 2011, Terre Haute, Ind. — DePauw is 5-3 on the season after splitting its opening two matches at the Rose-Hulman Invitational.
After winning the first two sets against Bethany (W.Va.), the Tigers dropped the final three for the loss. Bethany won by scores of 20-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-22, 15-13.
Annie Collier and Abby Balbach led DePauw with 14 kills apiece, while Brianna Holder had 48 assists and Kylee Lehrman four service aces. Tori Bowerman paced DePauw with 23 digs and Paige Thompson led with three blocks.
The Tigers rebounded with a 27-25, 25-12, 25-16 win over Franklin as Balbach totaled 14 kills and Holder had 34 assists. Libby Warren finished with three service aces, while Lerhman had 17 digs and Mary Kate Etling two blocks.
DePauw faces Rose-Hulman and Manchester on Sunday.
