Lauer's Javelin Win Highlights DePauw's Performances at Billy Hayes Invitational

May 6, 2011, Bloomington, Ind. — DePauw senior Courtney Lauer competed in four events at the Billy Hayes Invitational hosted by Indiana University and came away with one first-place finish to highlight the Tigers' finishes.

Lauer won the javelin and broke her own school record with a throw of 42.15 meters (138-3). That distance is also the 10th longest throw in Division III this year. She also was 11th in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.61 seconds, 12th in the 400 meters in 59.87 and tied for 14th in the 200 meters in 27.13.

Jess Macy finished fifth in the 3,000 meters in 10:37.04, while Lisa Becharas was 10th in the 1,500 meters in 4:52.33 and Kathleen Molloy also 10th in the 800 meters in 2:15.04.
