April 2, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. —  Sixth-ranked DePauw improved to 14-2-1 following a doubleheader sweep of visiting Hope. The Tigers won the opener, 4-1, and took the nightcap, 2-0. Hope dropped to 12-9-1 with the losses.

In the opener, Hope took a 1-0 lead in the first on Suzie Stevenson's RBI single, but the Tigers responded with three in the second. Cymone Allen drove in Amy Hallett with a double before Rachel MacBeth plated Jamie Story and Allen with a double. DePauw added one more in the fifth when Emma Minx tripled and scored on a passed ball.

DePauw totaled eight hits led by Brianne Weeks and Hallett with two each. Hope finished with nine hits as Abby Phillips had a pair. Emily Bichler improved to 12-2, while Michelle Marra dropped to 8-6.

In the nightcap, DePauw scored one in the first on back-to-back doubles by Jen Kosinski and Minx. The Tigers' other score came in the sixth as Minx doubled, moved to third on Haley Buchanan's sacrifice bunt and scored on Hallett's squeeze bunt.

Minx had three of DePauw's five hits, while four different Flying Dutch collected one each. Bichler improved to 13-2 with the four-hit shutout, while Marra dropped to 8-7.

The Tigers face Trine tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Noblesville High School.
