March 24, 2011, Knoxville, Tenn. — DePauw's 200-yard freestyle relay of John Montgomery, Joe Hessburg, Jack Burgeson and Josh Baugh has qualified for this evening's consolation finals at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center.
The relay finished 15th in 1:23.84 after entering with the 16th fastest time.
The Tigers' 400 medley relay of Baugh, Matt Kukurugya, Montgomery and Burgeson finished 21st in 3:29.78 earlier today.
Yesterday, DePauw's 200-yard medley relay of Montgomery, Kukurugya, Baugh and Hessburg finished 17th in 1:34.01.
Kukurugya will compete in the 100-yard breaststroke on Friday with the ninth fastest time and then on Saturday in the 200 breast where he has the 14th best time.
The Tigers are slated to compete in two more relays during the Championships. On Friday they'll compete in the 800 free relay where they have the 17th fastest time and, on Saturday, they'll swim the 400 free relay where they are 23rd.
DePauw finished 13th at last year's Championships.
