Box Score October 19, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — A pair of second-half goals were the difference for host DePauw as the Tigers topped Wabash by a 3-1 score in a steady rain at Boswell Field.
DePauw, ranked 18th by d3soccer.com and 24th in the coaches' poll, improved to 12-2 overall and 6-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. The win also assured the Tigers of a spot in the four-team NCAC Tournament in November. Wabash dropped to 7-7-2 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
George Elliott put the Tigers on the board with an unassisted goal just 14 minutes into the contest and that's the way the half ended.
Wabash knotted the score at 1-1 just 6:37 into the second half as Femi Oluyedun scored on Austin Jennings' assist.
The Tigers regained the lead as Andy Morrison scored less than four minutes later with Kreigh Kamman assisting. Kamman then wrapped up the scoring at 77:51 on Sam Meyer's assist.
DePauw held a 17-7 advantage in shots, while Wabash led in corners, 2-1. Nathan Sprenkel totaled four saves for the Tigers, while Matt Paul had three for Wabash. Pat West, who entered the game in the second half after Paul sustained an injury, had two saves.
DePauw travels to Allegheny on Saturday, October 22, for a 1 p.m. contest.
