January 21, 2011, San Antonio, Texas — DePauw shot just 29.8 percent from the floor and its four-game win streak came to an end in a 59-40 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference loss at Trinity.
The Tigers dropped to 10-7 overall and 5-3 in the SCAC, while Trinity improved to 8-8 overall and 5-3 in the conference.
DePauw held a brief lead in the opening minute before Trinity scored nine straight to take an 11-3 lead. The visiting Tigers put together a 9-0 run of their own to take a 12-11 advantage, but Trinity came right back with eight consecutive points and later stretched the lead to 31-20 at halftime.
The Trinity lead reached 14, but DePauw closed to within seven on three occasions. A 6-0 Trinity run pushed the lead back to 47-34 with just over eight minutes remaining and the margin stayed in double digits the rest of the way.
Sean Haseley paced DePauw with nine points and matched a career-high with 10 rebounds.
Sam Dworkin led Trinity with 12 points and Ryan Beall grabbed six boards as the hosts held a 28-26 advantage on the glass.
The Tigers hit just 6-of-32 three-pointers in the loss as part of their 29.8 percent shooting from the floor. Trinity connected on 48.9 percent from the field and hit 6-of-13 three-pointers.
DePauw travels to Southwestern tomorrow night in an 8 p.m. CST contest.
