Box Score September 26, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — Dana Sprague recorded two goals to lift DePauw to a 2-1 victory over visiting Sewanee in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action Sunday afternoon. Sprague notched her team-leading fourth and fifth goals of the season as the Tigers improved to 4-3 and 2-0 in SCAC play. Meanwhile, Sewanee fell to 4-4 (1-1 SCAC) with the loss.
Sprague's first strike came on an assist from Alexandra Ehr right before the end of the first period. She scored again in the 62nd minute to give DePauw a 2-0 lead. Fritsl Butler pulled Sewanee within striking distance, scoring on an assist from Beth Goodman at the 77:19 mark. However, DePauw would hang on for the victory, earning its second consecutive SCAC win.
DePauw outshot Sewanee 14-9 and put seven shots on goal in the contest. DePauw also held a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks. Goalkeeper Lauren Palfrey recorded three saves in the victory, while Sewanee's Virginia Zakas tallied five saves.
The Tigers travel to Birmingham-Southern on Friday, October 1 at 6 p.m. CDT.
