Box Score September 11, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw outshot visiting Transylvania, 36-1, on its way to a 7-0 field hockey victory Saturday afternoon on Boswell Field. The Tigers earned their fourth consecutive shutout, improving to 4-0 on the season, while the Pioneers fall to 0-2 on the season.
Sophomore forward Addie McDonnell started off the scoring at the 5:24 mark, and sophomore Margaret Ellis added a goal less less than eight minutes later. The Tigers took a 3-0 lead on sophomore defender Katie Broecker's penalty shot at 27:31.
In the second half, DePauw continued the offensive attack, receiving goals from four different players.
The Tigers had a 15-1 advantage in corners and totaled 32 shots on goal in the contest. Senior goalkeeper Liz Attewell notched one save, while Transylvania's Anna Melnykovych tallied 25 saves in goal.
DePauw's 4-0 start is its best since the 1999 squad opened with 17 straight wins and this marks the first time sine 1976 that a Tiger team has opened with four shutouts.
The Tigers wrap up the weekend tomorrow when they host the College of Wooster at 1 p.m.
