May 9, 2010, Defiance, Ohio — DePauw junior Courtney Lauer was one of three DePauw student-athletes competing in the heptathlon at the Yellow Jacket Multi-Event Challenge and won with an NCAA provisional score of 4,426 points. The score is the seventh best in Division III to date.
Lauer won five of the seven events including the shot put (10.29 meters), long jump (5.01 meters), javelin (31.57 meters), 200 meters (27.14 seconds) and the 800 meters (2:22.94).
Also competing for DePauw were Taryn Owens who finished in fourth with 3,407 points and Lisa Becharas who was in fifth with 3,147 points.
