Box Score 2 April 2, 2010, Sewanee, Tenn. — DePauw improved to 16-3 overall and 5-1 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play following a doubleheader sweep at Sewanee. The Tigers won the opener, 10-0, and took the second game, 22-3. Sewanee dropped to 0-11 overall and 0-10 in the SCAC.
Kristin Barrow allowed just one Sewanee batter to reach base in the first game as she tossed a one-hit shutout and improved to 2-1. Carly Whitfield suffered the loss.
The Tigers scored one in the first, three in the second and six in the fifth. DePauw totaled 13 hits in the win led by two each from Brianne Weeks, Rachel MacBeth, Jen Kosinski and Cymone Allen. Weeks drove in three. Sewanee's Alex Ginsburg had Sewanee's lone hit, a second-inning single.
In the nightcap, the Tigers banged out 24 hits in the win as they scored four in the first and six each in the second, third and fourth innings. Sewanee scored all three of its runs in the fourth.
DePauw pounded out four homers in the win with Amy Hallett tying a school record with a pair of three-run shots, while Kosinski hit a two-run homer and Haley Buchanana grand slam. Allen led the way with a 5-for-5 performance, while Kosinski added three hits. MacBeth, Kate Hendrickson, Gwen Anderson, Sam Szyska and Ashlee Anton each added a pair. Hallett drove in six and Buchanan four.
Six different Sewanee players had one hit each.
Emily Bichler picked up her first collegiate win after striking out eight and improving to 1-0. Warfield dropped to 0-11 with the loss.
The teams play an 11 a.m. CDT twinbill on Saturday.
