Box Score November 6, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — Courtney Wood scored in the second overtime period to lift second-seeded DePauw to a 1-0 semifinal victory over third-seeded Centre Saturday afternoon in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Field Hockey Championship.
DePauw improved to 13-6 with the victory and advances to face top seed Rhodes on Sunday at 11a.m. in a rematch of 2009's title game. Rhodes defeated DePauw in last season's SCAC Championship by a 2-1 count in overtime. Meanwhile, Centre finished the season with a final record of 11-5.
A defensive struggle resulted in a 0-0 score by the end of regulation. Neither team scored in the first overtime period and it was Wood's score off a rebound that ended the game midway through the second overtime.
DePauw held a 20-4 edge in shots and put 11 shots on goal during the contest. DePauw also tallied 16 corners, while Centre had five.
Liz Attewell had three saves for DePauw, while Patty Cowley totaled 10 for the Colonels.
