Tigers Lose to Presidents on Goal with No Time Remaining

October 17, 2010, Washington, Pa. —  Washington & Jefferson's Kim Marcius scored with no time remaining and gave the Presidents a 4-3 victory over DePauw. The Tigers dropped to 10-4, while W&J improved to 10-3.

Marcius' score came off of Victoria Patrick's shot after a penalty corner was called with 0.2 seconds remaining.

The Presidents took a 2-0 lead in the opening 16 minutes on goals by Alexandra Kania and Julianne Zackey, but DePauw closed the gap to 2-1 on Margaret Ellis' goal on an assist from Kimberly Trainor with less than four minutes left in the half.

The Tigers took a 3-2 lead after Bridgette Shamleffer scored twice in a span of 13 seconds with the first coming on Courtney Woods' assist. W&J knotted the score with seven minutes left as Patrick scored on Kolbey Seidel's assist.

The Presidents held a 23-11 advantage in shots and a 20-8 edge in penalty corners. Liz Attewell recorded 11 saves for DePauw, while Shelby Colyer and Roslynn Reynoso each had three for W&J.

DePauw returns to action on Friday, October 22, when it travels to Rhodes for a 3 p.m. CDT game.
