August 20, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. —  Coming off a 25-14 season and a second-place finish at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship, DePauw was picked fifth in a preseason poll of the conference's head coaches. The complete release is available here.

The Tigers totaled 90 points and trailed Austin by just one point. Southwestern was coaches' top pick with 126 total points including six first-place votes, while Trinity was second with 122 points and five first-place votes and Colorado College third with 108 points and one vote for the top spot.

DePauw returns five letterwinners from last year's team and opens the season on September 1 at Marian (Ind.).
