Tigers Qualify for Championship Finals in Two Events

Cook_John_200809msw.jpg March 21, 2009, Minneapolis, Minn. —  On the final day of NCAA Division III Championship competition, Tiger swimmers have advanced to this evening's championship finals in two events.

DePauw's 400-yard freestyle relay of John Cook (pictured), John Montgomery, Josh Baugh and Steve Klabak placed seventh in the prelims and broke its own school record with a time of 3:01.73.

Additionally, Cook broke his own school record in the 100 free and placed fourth in 44.40 seconds to qualify for tonight's finals. Steve Klabak also competed in the event and finished 52nd in 46.82.

Tonight's finals mark the end of the Championships and the Tigers head into the evening tied for 15th as a team. Complete information including links to live results and video available through Macalester College's host site.
