Relay Finishes Seventh; Cook Ninth at NCAA Championships

ncaamswimmers.jpg March 19, 2009, Minneapolis, Minn. —  DePauw's 200-yard freestyle relay of John Cook, John Montgomery, Josh Baugh and Steve Klabak not only broke their own school record from this morning's prelims, but finished seventh and earned all-America honors at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

After breaking their own school record in the prelims in 1:22.22, the four placed seventh in 1:21.88.

Cook later swam the 200 free and finished ninth in 1:39.48 to earn honorable mention all-America honors. The distinction was his 10th all-America honor in the last two years including five individual events and as part of five relays.

Baugh competes in Friday's 100 breaststroke, while the 800 free relay of Baugh, Charlie Boehme, Montgomery and Cook swim tomorrow and are seeded 13th at 6:48.21,
