February 13, 2009, Nashville, Tenn. — Following the conclusion of the first full day of competition on Thursday, DePauw is in second place behind Trinity at the 2009 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. Trinity leads with 299 points, while the Tigers are second with 269 and Centre third with 220.

DePauw's 200-yard freestyle relay finished second in an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 1:37.78, while Callie Boehme won the 500 free in 5:06.62 which also was a provisional time.
Amanda Stier (pictured) placed second in the 200 individual medley in a provisional time of 2:07.37 which is the eighth fastest time in the nation. Katie Massey also earned all-SCAC honors with a third-place showing in the 50 free in a provisional time and school record of 23.79 seconds.
The Tigers then finished second in the 400 medley relay in a provisional and school record time of 3:53.87. The top three in each event earn all-conference honors.
Action continues on Friday and the meet wraps up on Saturday evening. The 18th-ranked Tigers have finished second each of the last four years.
