DePauw's Men Win Fifth Invitational in Last Six Years

December 5, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. —  DePauw, ranked 19th in Division III, totaled 759 points and claimed its fifth DePauw Invitational title in the last six years. Wabash was second with 689 points followed by Wittenberg with 643.

DePauw's 200-yard medley relay of Steve Klabak, Matt Kukurugya, Brogan Runion and John Cook made an NCAA "B" cut after winning in 1:34.31. Robby Spichiger followed with a win in the 1,650-yard freestyle in 16:49.35.

Charlie Boehme of DePauw took a first in the 400 individual medley in 4:12.31 before Cook won the 50 freestyle in 20.97 seconds which also made the NCAA's "B" cut.

Wabash's Eric Vaughn won the 100 backstroke in 53.25 seconds and teammate Craig Vetor took first in the 200 free in 1:44.89. Evan Rhinesmith of Wabash finished first in the 200 breast in 2:09.92 before Runion claimed a first in the 100 butterfly in an NCAA "B" time of 51.20 seconds.

DePauw's 400 free relay of Josh Baugh, Johnny Montgomery, Klabak and Cook wrapped up the meet with a first in an NCAA "B" time of 3:03.98.
