November 7, 2009, Atlanta, Ga. — The 24th-ranked Tigers dropped both of its matches today and finished fourth at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Championship at Oglethorpe.
The Tigers lost to 13th-ranked Colorado College by a 3-2 (25-19, 18-25, 26-28, 25-18, 15-10) score in the semifinals before dropping a 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-22) match to 17th-ranked Trinity in the third-place match.
In the Colorado College match, Katey Larson led the Tigers with 16 kills, while Madison Hoenig had 24 digs. Ali Smith finished with 43 assists and Kristen Chynoweth totaled five blocks.
Katie Petrovich totaled eight kills and three blocks in the Trinity match with Abby Balbach finishing with 19 digs and Smith leading with 29 assists.
Smith (pictured) was DePauw's lone representative to the all-tournament team.
DePauw finished the regular season with a 28-9 record and awaits word of a possible at-large NCAA Championship selection.
