November 11, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw improved to 2-1 on the season following tonight's 200-100 win over Wabash at the Erdmann Natatorium. The Little Giants are 2-2 with the loss.
John Cook (left) took first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:44.0), 50 free (21.56) and 100 free (46.50), while Charlie Boehme was a double-winner in the 1000 free (10:20.07) and the 200 backstroke (1:59.75). Matt Kukurugya won the 100 breast (59.40) and the 200 breast (2:13.47).
Johnny Montgomery finished first in the 500 free (4:57.43) as did Brogan Runion in the 100 butterfly (52.68) and Josh Baugh in the 200 individual medley (2:00.29). Adam Wishart won the one-meter diving competition with 254.55 points and Patrick Springer took first on the three-meter board with 223.25.
Wabash's Eric Vaughn took the 100 backstroke in 54.54 seconds and David Birrer won the 200 butterfly in 1:58.10.
The Tigers opened the meet with a first in the 200 medley relay as Montgomery, Kukurugya, Baugh and Steve Klabak won in 1:37.45 and then wrapped it up with the 400 free relay of Montgomery, Kyle Kerrigan, Klabak and Cook winning in 3:10.21.
DePauw hosts Centre on Friday at 6 p.m.
