Box Score 2 April 6, 2008, Danville, Ky. - Third-ranked DePauw extended its school-record win streak to 29 straight games after sweeping host Centre by scores of 7-1 and 14-1.
The Tigers improved to 29-1 overall and 4-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, while the Colonels dropped to 12-16 overall and 0-8 in the conference.
Megan Soultz improved to 25-1 in the first game after allowing just one run and four hits in six innings, while Kristin Barrow pitched a scoreless seventh. Centre's Tyler Travis suffered the loss.
Kaitlyn Davitt led the Tigers with three of their 11 hits, while Brianne Weeks and Emma Minx each had two. Minx hit a two-run homer in the sixth and Ashlee Anton had a solo shot in the second. Lindsey Willett paced the Colonels with two of their five hits.
In the second game, Barrow improved to 4-0 after pitching the final three innings in relief of Soultz who started and tossed two innings.
The Tigers finished with 12 hits as Davitt led the way with three, while Weeks, Rachel Gill and Anton had two each. Anton drove in five with a two-run single in the second and a three-run homer in the third. Anton's homer was her fifth of the season and broke the school record of four. Willett led Centre with two of their five hits.
DePauw returns to action on Saturday, April 12, when it hosts Millsaps in an SCAC doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
